The stoneware feels wonderfully sturdy and substantial in hand, and the matte finish has a nice restaurant-quality weight. I've used it for individual gratins twice this week and the heat distribution is impressively even.

The deep, muted color is even better in person, and the thick walls really do keep my stew hot until the last bite. I just wish the lid sat a little more snugly; it’s a small wobble but noticeable.
